Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our representative & transferred to hotel. Delhi - capital of modern India. Many dynasties and rulers have flourished on its regal soil over the last 3000 years. The legacy still survives in many monuments varying from the 13th century mausoleum of the Lodi Kings to the buildings of British India's imperial past like the Parliament House and the Presidential Estate. Overnight at Delhi.
Day 02 Delhi - Varanasi
Today transfer to airport for flight to Varanasi - the eternal city on the banks of the holy river Ganges. Considered to be among the ancient cities of the world, centre of learning and civilisation for over 2000 years. On arrival transfer to the hotel and check in. Later proceed on a half day guided excursion to Sarnath - where Lord Buddha gave his first discourse after attaining enlightenment. Evening return for overnight at Varanasi.
Day 03 Tour Varanasi
Start the day with a boat ride on the river Ganges at sunrise, presents a as multitudes of devotees pay homage to the Sun God. Cruise past the bathing ghats and crematoriums. Return for breakfast. Later proceed on a guided city tour of Varanasi visit Vishwanath temple, the Bharat Mata temple & Banaras Hindu University. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at Varanasi.
Day 04 Varanasi - Bodhgaya (250 kms)
After breakfast drive to Bodhgaya - where Lord Gautama attained enlightenment under the sacred Asvatta tree (Bodhi tree). Upon arrival check in. Evening is at leisure. Overnight at Bodhgaya.
Day 05 Tour Bodhgaya
This morning, embark on a tour visiting the famous Chankamana or the Jewel Walk, Bodhi Tree, Maha Bodhi Temple, Bodhi Sarovar and the Museum which contains a collection of stone sculptures and other artefacts. The rest of the day is at leisure in Bodhgaya.
Day 06 Bodhgaya - Patna (200 kms)
Following breakfast, proceed on a drive to Patna enroute visiting Rajgir - the ancient capital of the Magadha Kings. Both Buddha and Lord Mahavira spent many years here, making it an important pilgrim site. Continue to Nalanda - the site of the world famous ruins of Nalanda University. Founded in the 5th century A.D., is known as the ancient seat of learning where teachers and students from all over the Buddhist world lived and studied. Continue your drive and check in. Overnight at Patna.
Day 07 Patna - Kushinagar (400 kms)
Today drive to Kushinagar. Enroute visiting Vaishali - a quiet hamlet steeped in legend which holds special significance for Buddhist devotees. Continue to Kushinagar, the place that the Buddha chose for his Mahaparinirvana, or final exit from this earth. Upon arrival check in. Afternoon visit various stupas and temples. Overnight at Kushinagar.
Day 08 Kushinagar - Lumbini (175 kms)
After breakfast drive to Lumbini - the birthplace of Buddha, Mecca of every Buddhist. On arrival check in. Afternoon visit the prime attractions which includes the sacred garden, the Mayadevi Temple, the Ashokan Pillar and Puskarni, the sacred pond wherein Mayadevi is said to have had taken a bath just before giving birth to Buddha. Evening is at leisure in Lumbini.
Day 09 Lumbini - Sravasti (180 kms)
Today drive to Sravasti, had the honour of sheltering Buddha for 25 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. The city believed to be founded by the mythological king Sravast, has age old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. This holy place also has the famous Anand Bodhi tree, said to have been planted by Buddha’s main disciple Anand. Afternoon, visit the various Buddhist attractions. Evening is free to relax. Overnight at Sravasti.
Day 10 Departure
Today we transfer to Lucknow airport (160 kms) for your onward flight.
